It's important for me to declare where my money for the operation of this site (i.e., web hosting) comes from and where else the money might go.
For now, my money comes entirely 1) out of my pocket, and 2) from those Google Ads you see scattered about these pages. At the moment, #1 is by far predominant. By the way, I don't actually endorse the products and services advertised; Google actually picks them out based on the text found on any specific page on my site.
As of May 2008, Google now allows "third parties" to advertise on my site. These advertisers may collect and use your IP address (a number that locates you to a small region of the country you live in, for example, your urban metropolitan area) for marketing purposes and to deliver ads that are relevant to your local area. Google's privacy policy governs these ads. ME4TM (this site) also has an IP address privacy policy. Read more about that here.
Also note that as per Google AdSense guidelines, no parties that participate in Google AdSense (third and otherwise!) are ever allowed to use your IP address in any malicious way, shape, or form.
I'll also be starting a server fund soon. I require about $130/year to host this site and keep up its domain, which isn't really all that much given that it's a whole year's worth of hosting. Advertising monies have yet to pony up to this amount for me annually so I would like to break even with running this site as a non-profit entity. I will close the "donation box" annually as it hits my hosting costs.
